This is a strange record, as the album title might suggest. The first song, Hannibal King, sounds like a nursery rhyme, and if the rest of the album continued in the same vein it could be very interesting. But instead most of the album just disappointingly normal.
There is nothing that special about her voice, and the songs can easily be just background music. There are far too many downbeat songs, not surprising really for a 'serious' female singer, but I won't be surprised if she is having a laugh at our expense (well with a name like Ambrosia Parsley). There are a few good songs on the album though, especially the shorter ones. The final song Arrivederci is like a little watlz.
Maybe the next album should only be about 20 minutes long?
