Graham Coxon - Happiness in Magazines

So we finally get to see how much of an impact Graham Coxon played in Blur. Ever tagged with being 'difficult', while Damon took most of the credit, Coxon's first release since his departure from Blur shows how he actually has the ear for 3 minute melodies and sharp pop/punk songs.

His previous solo albums have been used to free up the experimental urges that were not satisfied in Blur, but now that he no longer has to reserve his melodies for his band, he has thrown them all into this album.

The songs don't just fall into one pace. There's American lo-fi in Girl Done Good and touching ballad All Over Me as well as tons of perfect indie disco stompers, Bittersweet Bundle of Misery, Spectacular and Freaking Out. Coxon's talent is finally unleased in this album. For those who say he can's sing, well this vocals are suited perfectly to the songs here. In fact they seem more 'real' because of his style.

This album is for the disillusioned Blur fans. Those who deserted the band, once Damon ventured out to world music, and tried to be cool through cartoons. It is for those who loved straightforward guitar pop, and Graham continues the tradition.
