The Broken Family Band - Cold Water Songs (snowstorm)

If you didn't know better, you'd have thought that The Broken Family Band were an American band. They have a singer that sounds American, and play that sort of jaunty Country thing that the Yankees do so well. But they're from darkest deepest Cambridgeshire?

If there's only one reason to love Cold Water Songs, and the Broken Family Band, it's that they're a band just out to have fun, and they don't care if it's not very cool, or what they sound like. And very often the best music is created under these conditions.

So what do you get on this album? There's a mix of everything, from the stomp along country songs, with the funny lyrics (Don't Leave that Woman Unattended a woman needs a man like a fish needs water), to some more ballads, that usually won't be dragged out in the live set.

With a band the quality of the Broken Family Band, you don't actually care what genre they fit into anymore. They just create great music that everyone should listen to.
