Four Storeys were billed as being acoustic, which was puzzling as they are normally pretty much acoustic anyway. It turns out it meant that half the band were not there. This was perfect for such an intimate atmosphere, with the band only playing the more gentle songs of their repertoire.
Pug is mainly the bands of Simon Davies, who used to play guitar with Whispering Bob. In his new guise of Pug, they have a much more jazzy sound. The only disappointment was Simon's voice. On record it sounds beautiful, but somehow tonight it sounded very tinny.
March was an amazing month for Goldrush. Not only did they have a new name, but they had repeated airplay on the Evening Session that led to a session. Their return home to their own club night was extra special. Their recent gigging showed, with increased confidence onstage. Although they've been busy it hasn't stopped them from writing new material, playign some tonight. However the most special song of the night was Don't Bring Me Down. This song has the amazing ability to make anyone happy, and Simon couldn't resist the urge to join his old band, and returned to the stage to sing the final chorus.
